Cat Pulling Its Tail
![]() | ![]() | ![]() This is the full expression of the pose: however, a strap can be used to help in grabbing either leg, and/or a block or bolster can be put under either leg to make the pose more supported and comfortable. |
|---|---|---|
![]() Be sure to cue to look over the opposite shoulder as this brings in the neck stretch. Shoulders should be firm against the floor. | ![]() Keeping the knee bent, as opposed to out stretched works well as a modification to make the pose easier. | ![]() It is important to grab the foot in the this pose: this is the "tail" of Cat pulling its tail (you are the cat!). If you or your student can't reach your foot (this is difficult) use a strap and hook it around the foot, or simply kick the foot back (without grabbing it) to get the stretch). |
